Why are Puerto Ricans protesting at the UN?

Why are we protesting at the UN?

1.      We are protesting the 116 years that Puerto Rico is a colony of the United States, because it is a crime against humanity under international law.

2.      We are protesting because the US government has ignored 32 UN resolutions asking it to immediately decolonize Puerto Rico.

3.      We are protesting the hypocrisy of President Obama when he claims to admire Nelson Mandela, but, at the same time, refuses to release Puerto Rican Political prisoner of 33 years Oscar López Rivera for doing exactly the same thing Mandela did.

4.      And lasting, we are protesting because we are convinced that after 116 years of Puerto Rico being a US colony, the US government does not believe in justice for all.

Therefore, we must protest on Monday, June 16, next Monday on June 23, and every year until a tsunami of people reaches the threshold needed to force the US government to comply with the 32 UN resolutions.
